Regis Celebrates Mass of the Holy Spirit
The Regis community gathered today at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola to celebrate the annual Mass of the Holy Spirit, a cherished tradition in Jesuit education. The Mass was also the first opportunity for the Class of 2028 to join the broader Regis community in prayer.
Regis President Rev. Christopher Devron, SJ, served as the primary celebrant and was joined on the altar by Rev. James Ferus, SJ, Vice President for Ignatian Identity and Formation. More than 35 students volunteered as lectors, Eucharistic ministers, altar servers, musicians, ushers, and gift bearers.
"The Mass of the Holy Spirit reminds us of the gift of the fire that is in each of us," said Fr. Devron in his homily. "This is the fire that is going to sustain us this year and will allow us to care for one another with kindness and generosity. This Holy Spirit that is given to us at the beginning of the school year is also given to us at all places, all times, and all circumstances so that you and I may be able to accept unconditional love and share that love with one another."
