Regis Sophomores Embark on First Quest Retreat of the School Year
A group of students, faculty, and staff last week took part in the first Quest retreat of the year. The retreat, hosted at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Lloyd Harbor, Long Island, is a formative experience for Regis sophomores, and tradition holds that students only learn the details of the retreat when they arrive. In recent years, Regis has been organizing "double Quests" which see two separate Quest groups on retreat at the same time. These two groups represent the 219th and 220th Quest retreats since the program's inception.
Based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, Quest gives students the opportunity to deepen their spirituality. The retreat also marks the milestone of a student nearing the halfway point of their time at Regis, allowing them to assess God's presence in their lives. Sophomores are supported in this process by upperclassmen, faculty, and staff, who serve as retreat leaders and aim to guide students as they move through a time of spiritual and personal growth.
