REACH, through a transformative middle school program, empowers high-achieving young men from underserved communities as Catholic leaders committed to faith, scholarship, and service.
REACH is a free summer-and-Saturday enrichment program for middle-school boys designed to enhance students' academic and leadership skills. Through our advanced curriculum, REACH prepares students to win scholarships and financial aid to the most selective Catholic high schools in the New York City area, including Regis High School.

Why REACH?
Come be a part of a passionate team of professionals working to help change students’ and families’ lives! REACH sponsors and directs two residential sessions that run concurrently for three weeks on two, separate university campuses: Fordham University in New York City (54 students), and at the University of Scranton in Northeast Pennsylvania (150 students). We carry a faculty and staff of about 25 employees in New York and about 35 employees in Scranton.
Both residential programs will run from July 6th, 2025 - July 26th, 2025.
We are searching for one nurse to work with us in New York City, and one to work with us in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Both nursing roles are residential positions. Nurses in both New York and Scranton are provided with comfortable housing in university apartments and three meals per day in the university dining hall.
Role Responsibilities
REACH is seeking to hire two
Registered Nurses or
Licensed Nurse Practitioners to provide basic nursing care to students and staff during our two, 3-week sessions in Scranton and New York.
Other responsibilities include:
- Maintaining student files and ensuring the proper administration of prescribed and over-the-counter medication
- Advising students on healthy dietary and hygienic habits
- Providing care for the routine medical needs of the students and staff as they arise
- Arranging clinic or hospital visits for students as needed
- Regularly communicating health issues to the program director and REACH leadership
- Coordinating the care of students among staff
- Communicating with parents by phone as needed
- Assisting with all other duties as assigned by REACH leadership
Summer Details
- The Fordham and Scranton nurses each receive a stipend of $9,000 for the summer.
- The REACH at Scranton and REACH at Fordham sessions run from July 6th to July 26th, 2025.
- Office space within the university residence halls is available for a health office/clinic.
- The nurse holds daily office hours from 7:00am-8:00am (morning medication distribution), 6:30pm-8:30pm (athletic periods), and 9:00pm-10:00pm (evening medication distribution).
- The nurse attends breakfast (8:00am), lunch (11:30am), and dinner (5:30pm) with the students and staff.
- The nurse may attend weekend field trips.
Other Expectations
- Supports and is willing to advance the Catholic and Jesuit mission of the school.
- Works in collaboration with the administration in observing the principles and ideals for which Regis High School stands.
- The school expects one to conduct oneself at all times in a manner which shall not bring reproach upon oneself or the school.
